「吠えろ」を教えるからこそ、「ストップ」が効く
なぜ、多くの飼い主さんが「ダメ！」「いけない！」と声を大にして叱っても、犬の無駄吠えは止まらないのでしょうか？
それは、犬の脳内が感情的興奮で舞い上がっているときに、ただ突発的に行動を禁止しようとしているからです。
しつけの本質は、禁止ではなく「コントロール」です。
指示（コマンド）によってあえて「吠えろ」を教えるトレーニングの真の狙いは、犬の頭の中に「声を出すのも、やめるのも、すべて飼い主さんの合図次第なんだ」という明確なルールを叩き込むことにあります。

この従順性のベースができて初めて、インターホンなどの突発的な興奮状態でも、人間の「ストップ」という指示語が犬の脳内に届くようになります。
「やめなさい！」と感情的に怒鳴るプロはいません。
プロは指示の始まりと終わりを完全に支配しているのです。

Why is it that no matter how loudly so many owners yell “No!” or “Stop it!”, their dog’s nuisance barking never stops? It is because they are trying to abruptly ban the behavior right when the dog’s brain is completely swept up in affective/impulsive arousal.
The true essence of training is not prohibition, but rather “control.” The real objective behind deliberately teaching “Bark!” via a cue (command) is to hardwire a crystal-clear rule into the dog’s mind: “Whether I make a sound or stop, it all depends entirely on my owner’s signal.”
Barking on the owner’s cue. Stopping on the owner’s next cue.
Only after this foundation of obedience is established can the human cue for “Stop” actually reach the dog’s brain during sudden spikes of excitement, such as when the intercom rings.
No professional trainer emotionally yells “Stop it!” Professionals completely master and control both the beginning and the end of a cue.
