世の中のしつけ方法には、大きく分けて「間接対処法」と「直接対処法」の2つがあります。
ネットでよく見かける天罰方式などのやり方は、すべて「間接対処法」に分類されます。
これは、犬にストレスや嫌な刺激を与え、「どうしてこんなことが起きたんだろう？」と犬自身に考えさせて行動を修正させる、非常に高度な心理アプローチです。
ぶっちゃけて言えば、現場の状況に合わせてこの間接対処法を完璧に使いこなし、犬の無駄吠えを安全に改善できるドッグトレーナーは、プロでも全体の2割しかいません。
プロですら失敗するリスクが高い方法を、一般の飼い主さんが真似して上手くいくはずがないのです。
だからこそ、飼い主さんが選ぶべきなのは絶対に「直接対処法」です。
直接対処法とは、「吠える代わりに、お座りをして待ちなさい」というように、人間が明確な指示を与えて都合の良い行動へ直接導く方法です。
これなら犬が迷うことなく、ゴールが明確でブレません。
ネットの「犬に考えさせる高度な罠」に惑わされるのはもうやめましょう。

Dog training methods in the world can be broadly divided into two categories: “Indirect Approaches” and “Direct Approaches.”
Techniques frequently seen online, such as the divine punishment method, all fall under the category of “Indirect Approaches.” This is a highly advanced psychological approach where you apply stress or an unpleasant stimulus to the dog, forcing the dog itself to think, “Why did this happen?” and correct its own behavior.
To be completely blunt, only about 20% of professional dog trainers can flawlessly master this indirect approach in real-world scenarios and safely improve a dog’s nuisance barking. If the risk of failure is that high even for professionals, there is no way everyday owners can copy it and expect it to go well.
This is exactly why the choice for owners must absolutely be the “Direct Approach.”
The direct approach means that a human gives a crystal-clear cue to guide the dog directly toward a desirable behavior, such as: “Instead of barking, sit and wait.” With this method, the dog never gets confused because the goal is clear and unwavering.
It is time to stop being misled by the “advanced traps of making the dog think” found all over the internet.
